Did you know Napier was once the sweet potato growing capital of South Africa?
To celebrate this humble yet versatile vegetable, we have named our annual
festival, which incorporates the Napier Half-marathon, a mountain bike race and a trail run, in honour of it.
We proudly celebrated our
23rd Napier Patatfees
during the weekend of
16-19 June 2016
Youth Day 'till Fathers' Day
The scarecrows along our streets welcomed visitors for
this fun filled weekend,
fine cuisine was enjoyed in the numerous restaurants,
outstanding wines of the Overberg estates were available for tasting and there were fun events for the youth.
The 2016 Napier Patatfees was a huge success and fun was had by all!! In order for Patat 2017 to be even better,
we need a good team to head up all the activities. The following openings need to be filled for next year:
• Care taker / grounds manager on the day of the fees at the school.
• Scarecrow competition
• Mardigras/ street carnival
• Accommodation co-ordinator
• School Market stalls
• Special events co-ordinator (new ideas and small events such as Poitjie kos comp)
• General helpers

A new event for 2016 was the Trail Run and on Sunday after the festival, Wokini Market kept people entertained.
